AUVSI XPONENTIAL 2019 AND NEW POWER UNIT!
The Pegasus team was excited to showcase its advanced hybrid UAV technology at the AUVSI Xponential 2019 trade show last week!
Pegasus exhibited the existing commercial GE35 and GE70 gas-electric engine units, designed to provide unparalleled logistical, endurance, and diagnostic capabilities to industrial UAVs. Pegasus will also unveiled the new GD70 (gas-direct, 70cc) engine!
The GD70 is designed from the ground up to be the perfect powertrain solution for fixed wing and VTOL platforms. It combines Pegasus’ existing power management architecture and diagnostics
suite with a mechanically optimized engine unit.
The GD70 integrates Pegasus’ fuel injection and power generation capabilities, allowing it to provide up to 4.5kW of combined mechanical and electrical power. At 3kg for the engine unit and all associated subsystems, it is the lightest engine unit with integrated power generation in its class.
The GD70 engine unit implements the same advanced diagnostics capabilities found on all Pegasus products, and is tested to STANAG 4703.
Also exhibited at the show were a variety of new Pegasus powered platforms, such as the Avartek “Boxer Hybrid” and the Advanced Aircraft Company’s “HAMR.” These platforms have outstanding endurance, payload, and logistical capabilities due to their gas-electric power units.
We look forward to attending Xponential again in Boston in 2020!
